 The Problem: The Ceiling Stain Isn’t the Real Problem  

Repainting a water-stained ceiling without dealing with the slab above it is one of the most common false fixes in residential and commercial buildings – it looks resolved for a few weeks until the next heavy rain brings the same stain right back. The actual fault here was a crack in the concrete slab, letting water track sideways and downward until it showed up as a stain in a spot that could be metres from where the water was actually getting in.

 The Solution: PU Injection  

Once the crack path was located from the corridor ceiling, the team drilled injection points along the crack and pumped in polyurethane resin under pressure. PU injection works by filling the crack from the inside out – the resin travels through the full depth and width of the crack, not just the visible surface, which is what makes it effective for slab cracks where the damage runs through the concrete rather than sitting on top of it.

One detail our team specifically noted on this job: once the crack was fully packed, residual PU resin started coming out at the tile joints on the floor above.
